1st post

This is my senior year in college diving, and last year in diving in general, which makes it very very special. During 15 years of my athletic career I had been progressing, at a different pace, at different places and with different coaches. Collecting form the experience I got to my final year, at the UNM dive team, with my awesome teammates Aubrey, Gabby, Alex and Steph, and our great coach Abel Sanchez, and I feel happy about everything!
There have been different times, rough times, bad performances, disappointment and frustration, but this year will be different - I have promised myself.

University of New Mexico diving team is ready for the season to begin!
Only 4 days left until our first meet which will take place in Colorado at the Air Force Academy. Competing teams are UNM, CSU, AFA, SDSU.
At first, only 3 divers were going to compete, it was supposed to be Aubrey, Gabby and Me, but today we found out the all 5 of us are traveling, great news! Aubrey, Alex, Stephanie, Gabby and Sasha - "The Team".

Coming back from the summer break we began to work hard and got into a good shape very quickly (especially comparing to the last year). I realize that it has a lot to do with the attitude we approached the training with. Coach Abel so far have been doing so much for the team in terms of motivation, encouragements and support. He has his "Belief", belief in us and it has been a great empowerment. As a team we are doing very well. I feel like girls have been helping me a lot with getting through workouts and getting my dives off, and I feel happy to be their supporter too.
Aubrey is my role model hardworker. She will dive and dive and dive and will never wine or cry or give up. Looking up at her has been helping me getting through my 3 meter lists.
Even though me and Alex have a weird relationship, and often get into silly arguments, she is my teammate, and my team wouldn't be complete without her. She is a hard worker too, getting through hard training along with intense school, injuries and other problems. I am looking forward to establish better friendship with her, and work together towards out team goals. Gabby is a competitor, great athlete and a good friend. We help each other all the time and I appreciate her commitment.
Stephanie is our new member and she is doing great. She adds a lot of positivity and fun to our training. We all love having her and expecting her to improve and do very well this year. And Abel is "the Man". I finally start to appreciate better what he does for all of us. He loves his job and without him we wouldn't be what we are right now.
I felt like talking about each of us, because I love my team. In 3 years UNM diving became my family. I am definitely having one of the best times of my life.

Back to the season - it starts in 4 days. We are in a good shape, looking good, feeling good, feeling confident and we will do great! I will be posting results form every meet we go to, and pictures are coming up soon as well.

Cheers to UNM dive team, whoohoo!
